Defendant – Nicholas Eccleston, owner of Latchmoor Cottage on the Rhinefield Estate.
Charged with failure to provide a suitable and sufficient fire risk assessment, failure to provide an appropriate means for giving the alarm in case of fire, failure to protect the escape routes from the first floor of the premises and failure to ensure that a fire exit door could be easily and immediately opened in an emergency.
Fined £10,000 plus £3,660 in costs and a £120 victim surcharge.
